Facebook’s #equallove float for 2017 Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras

This year we were so proud to be called on to produce a video for Facebook’s ‘#EqualLove’ Float at the 2017 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

We head out to capture the rainbow kids practicing their moves at rehearsal, the buzz & glitter of hair & makeup at the pre-parade preparations, and then ran along into the sparkling, rainy night (we had an umbrella for our gear, nobody else cared) to capture them busting moves throughout the spectacular parade.

Facebook ‘Drag-Bassador’ Tina Turnon and Mia Garlick, Facebook’s Director of Policy for Australia & New Zealand/ APAC Regional Co-Ordinator, talk about the 2017 Mardi Gras theme of ‘creating equality’ and Facebook’s’#equallove’ float, saying that “love if the most used reaction (on FB) after the like button, and the most used emoji & hashtag on instagram“.

We had heaps of fun, and we’re stoked to be a part energy and excitement of the 2017 Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras with Facebook. Thanks for letting us ‘celebrate equal love in all its forms’ X
